I started school in Fairfield then moved to Waterloo, Ia in the 3rd grade with my family. After graduating from the 8th grade we proceeded to move to Galesburg in 1936. My father started working at Rowe Manufacturing where in 1938 I joined him. I met and married a lady named Helen before being drafted in the Armed Forces in 1942. After serving my tour of duty I returned home in 1946. I went back to work at Rowe Manufactoring, retiring in 1980 after the doors closed. I have 2 sons and 4 grandchildren.
