Marriage Notes
From McCubbin Collection Rowan county, North Carolina Wrights Film No-19902

A letter to Mrs Ida Finch of Linwood N.C. in early March 1942 from Zolla W. Atkinson of 2611 East 732 Chicago, Ill about her ancestors of Rowan and Randolph countys N.C. saying she had written Minnie Zink (of Chicago who had visited Davidson Co. N.C. last year) but no answer. It seems she might be descended from Gottlieb Sink, through Rev Jacob (a brother of Mrs Atkinson's Daniel Zink. A genealogy is in the making of the Richard Wright pioneer, of old Rowan (now probably Davidson Or Randolph) which a rich old lady is willing to publish gratis and as both Mrs Atkinson's parents were of the Wirght family, she is anxious that they be included. Her father comes from Philbird or Philbutt and her mother Nancy Wright (born 1799 N.C. died 4-10-1860 Indiana) married 5-24-1797 Richard Gilstrap in Rowan Co. N.C.,she may be descended of the three of four sons of Richard Wright born abo~,t 1730 died 17m5 N.C. Richard Wright born about 1730 in Englnnd came to America about 1746, married about 17~8 AnD, Jane or Nancy who may have been a Morgan, She signed when estat~ was settled (Richard Wrigh+ died in Rowan in 1785) Issue: Benjamin born 1752, Peter born 17R4, Richard born 1757 John born 1759, William born 1761, Evins or Evans born 1762, Amos Sr. born 1764 and Philburt born 1768.
It seems ~hat each of the three old~st sons had a Nancy, vet? little of known of John W. but the last four brothers have been traced, therefore it simmers down to the others. Nancy was the second wif~ of Richard Gilstrap-his f~st wife,Mary Pr~,itt, died Jn N.C. The Gilstraps journeyed from Craven county to the "back country" in N.C. and Zne Bible says Nan,y wright married in Rowan county N.C. Then when Mrs AtWinson visit 1928 she failed to get this marriage bond and has made many efforts to locate what is needed and is willing to try again if someone is able to take charge of the search.

Note D.B. Allaman The Wright family came from Virginia to North Carolina. They had been in Virginia for generations before this. This is all proven notice work of Mrs Steiner of Chillicothe, Mo. andMrs Wakefield of Chillicothe, Mo. Also my own work of
42 years of searching N.C. and Indian records. I own my grt grt grandparents bible
Mr and Mra Michael Henry Motsinger who came from Washington county Indiana 1 835 to Fulton county, Ill. I am also the holder of dozens of pictures of the family. Ail of this will be in teh hands of a second cousin in Scottsdale, Arizona. He and his brother will print this for me.
