The local police in Canton thought my Dad was murdered and the suicide note was a bogus deal. One of my friends on the Police force said he saw wire on his wrists. Dad was heavy into political things and made enemies over votes. As head of the Democratic Party in Central Illinois, he controlled many votes. They were trying to get him out of politics at any price last I knew. They had drummed up some various charges trying to discredit him right there at the last.
