Obituary: 08 FEB 1972 Galesburg Register Mail; Galesburg, Knox Co., IL  Mrs. William Coutant, 55, Aledo, died Monday at 9:05 p.m. at St. Luke's Hospital, Davenport.    The former Mary M. Wood was born Feb. 11, 1916, at Canton. She married William Coutant on June 20, 1937, at Covington, KY. She attended schools at Canton and moved to Galesburg, where she graduated from Galesburg High School.    She moved to Aledo in 1939, where she was employed 15 years at Roosevelt Military Academy as assistant librarian and quartermaster.    She was a member of Aledo United Methodist Church, its WSCS, Women of the Moose and Royal Neighbors of America.    Surviving with her husband are two sons, William A., Jr and Daniel O., both of Aledo, a daughter, Miss Mary ALice Coutant, Aledo; her mother, Mrs Otis R. Wood, Galesburg, and four brothers, Donald and Raymond, both of Galesburg, Paul of Nashville, TN and Melvin of Canton; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Anderson, Galesburg and Mrs. Roy Scalf, Canton, and two grandchildren.    Funeral will be Thursday at 1:30 pm at the Reiser Chapel. Burial will be at Aledo Cemetery.
