From document dated July 4, 1898 information that he was married to Lydia Young, Oct. 8, 1851, Guinea, Ohio. Recorded County Records, Clermont County, Ohio. Not previously married. July 18, 1859. Mary M. Motsinger, b. Mar. 14, 1865. Pensioner enlisted Sept. 1 or 6, 1864 at Cincinnati, Ohio and was discharged at Mound City, Ill. Aug. 12, 1865. Served as Landsman on USS Benton, Great Western, Grampus, and Huntress. On Mar. 4, 1907 was 79 , 5'9', Fair, Brown hair, and had Brown eyes. Weight 140. Surviving claimant: William E. Motsinger, Milford, Ohio. Forrest Motsinger furnished a character witness statement for William E. Motsinger, Apr. 18, 1912. Letter from Pension agency dated May 13, 1912 to William E. Motsinger, Milford, Ohio asked for release signatures from J. B. Motsinger, Mollie Motsinger, Mrs. P. K. Applegate, and Eveland & Motsinger.
