Husband: Richard R. MOTSINGER |
Born: 11 AUG 1821 in Washington Co., IN Notes: He was first married to Nancy Roads who died sometime after 1850 without issue. Utica or Banner Twp. 1850 Census, Richard 29 b-Ind.: Nancy 27 b-Ind. He 2nd married Lucretia Melissa Johnson, born near Lewisburg, Franklin Co., KY, daughter of Charles S. and Nancy (Henderson) Johnson. She came with her family, walking all the way to Canton Twp, IL 1852. Their home is yet used on South Second Ave., Canton, IL. Mr. Motsinger was Tax Collector, Buckheart Twp., 1847. He was a farmer and in later life sold chickens and farm produce. Both he and his wife died with Brights Disease. Mrs. Motsinger died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Julia E. Allaman, where the services were held. They are buried, Greenwood Cemetary on adjoining lot of their daughter, Canton IL. They were the parents of 12, One child died , age 12 yrs.
