In the census itself James is listed without a wife (Eliz. had died), b in PA, & with the following children: Amelia 23 IL Mary 22 IL Eliz. 19 IL Margaret 17 IL Levi 14 IL Cyrus 10 IL Meshich 7 IL Lyman 5 IL Particularly interesting is the name Meshich, which, given the vagaries of spelling in those days, seems about the same as Meshach (which of course was spelled various ways too), who would be his grandfather. Also, it looks like Meshich was born about 1853, which is the year that Meshach Cooper died--another interesting coincidence or to commemorate his father James named his newborn son after him.
