Amos Wright Sr. of Washington Co., Indiana. In the 84th year of his age. He was one of the meek of the earth and without an enemy in the world, so far as we know. But he has finished his course on earth in the assurance of triumphant faith, and more than 40 years of that time, he was a public teacher of Christianity and contended faithfully for the faith of the Gospel. He has left behind a great many relatives but none "to sorrow as those who have no hope." He has left behind 5 sons (if all are living) earnestly contending for the faith with one grandson, Jacob Wright, now of Decatur County and one son-in-law, Nathan Buchanan, called a strong man in the gospel, now of Missouri.    November 1846 John Wright, Sr. Notes: He married Elizabeth Lane, daughter of Captain John Lane of Virginia. They moved to Washington County, IN. Amos Wright was a Revolutionary Was soldier and was founder of Church of Christ and well beloved. He was remembered in Washington County histories.
