Henry Rachel Matilda Allaman, daughter of Jacob Jr. and Mary Ann Frye Allamon, b. 2-Oct-1847, d. 1931 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania at the age of 84. She was married on 14-Feb-1876 to Charles George (George) Teed. John F. Teed located in Uniontown, Pennsylvania with a restaurant and confectionery and remained there for several years. Mrs. Sarah Teed purchased this property in 1870 and improved it by adding a two story brick front and here conducted a boarding house until March 26, 1902, when it was nearly destroyed by fire. She then erected the present building which she called the “New Teed House” and continued to conduct a house of entertainment until her death, March 18, 1907, since which time the business has been conducted by her son, -------------------------------------------- Obituary Mrs. Charles G. Teed, Apr-18-1931 Word reached Uniontown, Pennsylvania of the death, Saturday, April 18, 1931 at the home her daughter, Mrs. Alice Ramsey, Pittsburgh, Pa. of Mrs. Charles G. Teed. At the time her death she was aged 83 years. She was a native of Fayette County and up to about 15 years ago resided Uniontown. Mrs. Teed was the widow of Charles G. Teed who for many years conducted one of the city’s leading hostelries known as the Teed House. The hotel was located in Morgantown street, opposite the intersection of Morgantown and Arch streets. Mrs. Teed is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ramsey and one brother, Mr. Johnson Allman of Canton, Illinois. A short funeral service will be held in the Ramsey home and then the body will be brought to the Johnston Mortuary Chapel, 65 North Ballitin Avenue, where additional services will be held, in charge of Rev. E. A. Hodil at Thursday 11 am. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. |
