Henry Jacob Post Allaman, son of Jacob Jr. and Mary Ann Frye Allamon, b. 28-Jun-1849, d. 16-Dec-1915 in New Salem, Penn-sylvania at the age of 66. He was 1st married on 4-Oct-1867 to Lydia Carolina Malone, b. 5-Feb-1845. He was 2nd married on 16-Dec-1881 to Nancy Campbell Cramer. He was a Civil War veteran, Pvt. Co. K 116 Pennsylvania. He was shot in both legs, which afterwards contributed to his death. He served in the Battle of the Wilderness, the last and most ferocious of the Civil War. His original discharge was given to the Pennsylvania Historical Society and hangs on the wall of the restored Fort Necessity, not far from Uniontown. He and his family are buried in New Salem Presbyterian Cemetery, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, in a row with his parents. He was a blacksmith by trade. |
