Died: 24 NOV 1942 in Bureau Co., Illinois  Funeral services for Frank E. Johnson were held at the Methodist church last Tuesday afternoon preceded by a short service at the home with Rev. R.C. Myers, pastor in charge. Mr & Mrs F. R. Stratton sang and Miss Mable Turner was accompanist. Bearers were B.F. Carper, Frank Carper, P.T. Carper, H.B. Arms, S.F. Haley and L.C. Stutzman. Interment was in Hopeland cemetary, west of town. Frank Edmund Johnson son of John P. and Mary Fox Johnson was born in Canton, Ill. Dec-14-1867. He attended schools of that city and learned after attaining manhood, the cigar trade. He later went to Brimfield and over fifty years ago came to Buda to live. He was a partner with his brother Henry, in a grocery and meat market for many years, retiring about two years ago. He was married to Mrs. Berry of Neponset who survives. There are also three children by a former marriage, Arthur Johnson, Chillicothe, Earl of Pekin and Mrs Ruth Church of Pekin. Five sisters, Mrs Nellie Hamilton, Rochester, New York; Mrs Grace Riley Annawan; Mrs Eva Crandall, Los Angelos, Cal; Mrs Clyde Reichardt Tiskilwa and Mrs Bertha Seible, Belvidere; His only brother, Henry of this place, and step son-George Berry of Galesburg. There are eight grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Mr Johnson has been ill with heart trouble for some time but his passing was rather unexpected.
