Notes:
He first came to Philadelphia 1743 with son Jacob, and returned to Europe, evidently for the marriage of his own daughter, Susanna who married Shallbach-Lorrainne, Johannes Paulus Baillet. He and son Jacob and wife Margeretha last came from Leith 20 October 1747. Refernce Penn. German Pioneers by Strassburger and Heinke, Vol 1, Pages 369-70. and in Penn. Archives series Vol xxiv, page 110. His land was warranted Bucks CO., Penn for 50 acres and paid taxes on same 29-Dec-1748. He was among the first Hugonot settlers of Whitehall Twp, LeHigh County, Penn.

Our progenitor in America was Jacob Allemang who was found on the records of St. Stephens church, Canton Bern, Switzerland as being baptised 1704. Others on the list were Catherine Aliman baptised 1699 daughter of Hans; Christian Alliman baptised 1708, Johannes Alliman baptised 1711, and a George Alliman baptised 1766, son of Jacob. He was found later in Ransiveiler, Speyer, Phaltz Germany.

---------------------------------

Jacob Allemong, his wife Anna Maria Balliet Allemong and five children left Schalbach of the Lorraine territory for Rotterdam to begin their journey to the new world. Jacob first came to Philadelphia in 1743 with son Jacob, and returned to Europe, evidently for the marriage his eldest daughter, Susanna, born about 1725. She married there on November 17, 1743 at Schalbach, Lorraine to Johan Nicholas Balliet, Jr. Johann and Susanna later came to Philadelphia about the same time or a little before her parents. The records in America document their presence and the Indian attack record speaks for itself as the Indians intended to attack the Balliet residence.

Jacob Allemong, wife Anna Maria and family last came from Leith on 20 October 1747. The ship’s list for the elder Jacob Allemong of Schalbach, Lorraine lists:
Johann Jacob, born 26 April 1730 at Schalbach
Anna Elisabetha, born 14 February 1732 at Schalbach
A child, born 12 January 1734 at Schalbach
Elizabetha, born 25 March 1735 Schalbach
Christina, born 16 January 1738 at Schalbach
The signatures of Jacob Allemong and his son, Jacob Allemong (later married to Elizabeth Barbara) both appear on the ship register, ships list 116 B, dated on arrival in Philadelphia, 20 Oct 1747, thus proving the emigration of this Jacob Allemong of Schalbach to Pennsylvania. The name of the ship has been lost.

He was amongst the first Huguenot settlers of Whitehall Twp., Lehigh, Co. Pennsylvania. He was burned to death in his farm home by the Seneca Indians on Oct-9-1763. With the others killed in the Attack, he was buried on the Johannes Schneider farm. The emigrant Jacob Allemong settled in Northampton County Pennsylvania where he originally owned 50 acres of land and his son Jacob owned 25 acres of land. The warrant of land of 50 acres was recorded on 29-Dec-1748. Also, paid taxes on this same land then. He was one of the first Huguenot Settlers in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania which was created out of Northampton County, Pennsylvania 1828. Jacob Allemong, married to Elizabeth Barbara (last name likely Hundzicker), who is the son of Jacob Allemong, paid taxes on a land warrant of 25 acres on 29-Dec-1748.
